Cultural Program
Lund is one of Sweden’s oldest cities, rich in history, culture, and tradition. During the congress (28 July – 1 August 2025), participants are invited to join a curated cultural program to experience the historical and cultural depth of the region.

Tuesday, 29 July – Guided City Walk
- Time: 18:00–19:30
- Meeting Point: Outside AF-Borgen (main conference venue)
- A walking tour through Lund’s medieval streets. Includes Lund Cathedral, university landmarks, and historical sites.
- Pre-registration required. Limited spaces. Fee: SEK 80
Thursday, 31 July – Guided Walk & Skissernas Tour
Guided City Walk of Lund (Second Route)
- Time: 18:00–19:30
- Meeting Point: Outside AF-Borgen (main conference venue)
- Alternative route to explore new corners of historic Lund.
- Pre-registration required. Limited spaces. Fee: SEK 80
Skissernas Museum Tour
- Time: 18:00–19:00
- Location: Finngatan 2, Lund
- Discover how public artworks are conceptualized and produced.
- Pre-registration required. Limited spaces. Fee: SEK 100
Friday, 1 August – Archaeology & Fun Run
Archaeological Experience at Uppåkra
- Time: 09:00–12:00 (approximate)
- Location: Uppåkra Archaeological Centre (transport from central Lund at 09:00, exact location TBA)
- Guided visit + optional hands-on digging at one of Scandinavia’s most significant Iron Age sites.
- Pre-registration required. Limited spaces. Fee: SEK 280
WEHC Fun Run
- Time: Meet at 16:45 for a 17:00 start
- Meeting Point: AF-Borgen
- A 6km scenic loop through Sankt Hans Backar, ending at Inferno bar for a casual gathering.
- All levels welcome. Registration required.

Skissernas Museum
- Location: Finngatan 2, Lund
- Open: Tuesday–Sunday 11:00–17:00
- Admission: Free for WEHC participants
- World’s largest collection of sketches/models for public art.
Historiska Museet (Lund University Museum)
- Location: Krafts torg 1 (next to Lund Cathedral)
- Open: Tuesday–Sunday 12:00–17:00
- Admission: Free for WEHC participants

Lund Cathedral
A Romanesque cathedral built in the early 1100s, Lund Cathedral is one of Scandinavia’s oldest and most significant religious buildings. The crypt, with its carved stone pillars, and the medieval astronomical clock are highlights of any visit.
Botanical Gardens
Located near the conference venues, Lund’s Botanical Gardens are open daily and free to enter. With more than 7,000 species and beautifully arranged walking paths, it’s an ideal place to relax or take a mindful stroll between sessions.
Streets of Lund
Lund’s historic city centre is best explored on foot. Wander cobbled alleys, pass by centuries-old houses, and enjoy the atmosphere around university squares and quiet courtyards. Cafés and bookstores line the walkways, offering plenty of opportunities to pause.
